Role Overview: We are seeking a motivated and talented Data Visualization Power BI Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for designing impactful dashboards, reports, and visual analytics solutions to support data driven decision-making across our organization. This role is centered around the development, optimization, and maintenance of business intelligence assets, primarily leveraging Microsoft Power BI for seamless integration with existing data environments. Additional experience with tools such as Tableau or Qlik is considered a plus. This virtual role provides an excellent opportunity for growth and learning in a collaborative environment. (Military Veterans encouraged to apply) Responsibilities and Duties: • Report & Dashboard Development: Design, build, and maintain engaging Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to business requirements. • Data Modeling: Construct and optimize data models, utilizing techniques such as Power Query to ensure efficient data transformation and robust backend logic. • Data Integration: Connect to multiple data sources (e.g., SQL, Databricks), ensuring accurate and reliable information flows into Power BI visualizations. • Performance Tuning: Implement best practices in performance optimization, troubleshooting, and end-user support for visualization solutions. • Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, business analysts, and IT teams to gather reporting requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions. • User Enablement: Conduct demos, training, and produce documentation to help end-users get the most out of developed Power BI solutions. • Quality Assurance: Perform unit testing, troubleshoot issues, and validate results to ensure consistent, high-quality deliverables. • Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features and industry trends, recommending enhancements to existing solutions. Requirements: • 4+ years of experience in Power BI and data visualization. • Bachelor’s degree. • Proficient in Microsoft Power BI, including report building, DAX, Power Query, and service administration. • Experience with tools such as MS Excel, SharePoint, and Azure data services. • Familiarity with SQL or other data extraction/manipulation languages. • Bonus: Experience with additional BI tools (e.g., Tableau). • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL best practices. • Ability to leverage tools such as MS Teams, Jira, Confluence, and visualization planning platforms. • Comfortable integrating and visualizing data from diverse sources and formats. • Able to suggest innovative approaches that streamline reporting and analytics alongside IT professionals. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. • Eagerness to learn new technologies and improve existing skills.
