Engineering Manager / Ruby / IGaming / Remote

A rapidly growing Los Angeles based iGaming and real-money wagering company is seeking a full-time Engineering Manager with strong Ruby on Rails expertise to lead the team behind its core gaming platform. This organization powers both its own consumer-facing products and white-label real-money gaming solutions for major partners across 20+ states. This is a chance to join a scaling, fast-moving gaming technology company building complex, highly regulated, high-availability systems. This opportunity is ideal for an engineering leader who wants true ownership and the chance to shape the technical direction of a platform experiencing rapid expansion. You’ll guide a talented Rails team, influence architecture, and help build systems that must be secure, compliant, and resilient while partnering closely with product, security, and external brand partners. As the platform grows and new partners are onboarded, you’ll gain major visibility, leadership opportunities, and the ability to drive real technological and organizational impact. Required Skills & Experience • 5+ years of production Ruby on Rails development • 2+ years managing or leading engineering teams • Strong understanding of Rails, ActiveRecord, background jobs, and API design • Experience scaling and maintaining complex or high-traffic web applications • Proficiency with PostgreSQL and Redis • Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical decisions Desired Skills & Experience • Background in fintech, gaming, iGaming, or other regulated industries • Familiarity with AWS, containers, CI/CD pipelines, and security best practices • Experience with event-driven architectures or service decomposition • Experience collaborating with product and executive stakeholders What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown • 90% Ruby on Rails / API / Platform Services • 10% AWS, DevOps collaboration, CI/CD, Observability Daily Responsibilities • 60% Hands On (technical leadership, code reviews, architecture) • 25% Management Duties (mentorship, planning, hiring) • 15% Team Collaboration (product, QA, security, external partners) The Offer • Equity included You Will Receive The Following Benefits • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance • Vacation Time Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future.
