About the Role: Substitute Teacher As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the autonomy to choose your assignments and work on your own schedule. Our platform offers a range of opportunities, from day-to-day substitutes to long-term positions, allowing you to tailor your experience to your needs and preferences. You'll be working closely with our dedicated team, who will provide you with the support and resources necessary to excel in the classroom. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of the regular teacher Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, ensuring continuity and progress in the students' learning journey Build positive relationships with students, teachers, and school staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment Manage classroom dynamics, promoting a safe and respectful atmosphere conducive to learning Participate in 1:1 check-ins with our consultants to discuss school feedback, develop your skills, and address any concerns or questions you may have Take advantage of our free online training programs to enhance your teaching practices and stay up-to-date on best practices in education Essential Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor NJ Substitute Credential Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related educational role Specialized training or certifications in areas such as Special Education, English as a Second Language, or STEM education Experience working with diverse student populations and developing culturally responsive teaching practices Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to new situations and challenges Strong organizational and time management skills Flexibility and willingness to learn Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Scoot Education, we're dedicated to supporting your professional growth and development.
