Job title: Facility Supervisor - Apple Valley Community Center Company: City of Apple Valley Job description: SUMMARY OF POSITION The Facility Supervisor is responsible and for the security and safety of the facility and its users. Facility Supervisors are required to perform all tasks necessary to assist clients that are using the facility and which make the facility more attractive and presentable. The Facility Supervisor must respond to the needs and concerns of all using the facility in a courteous, informed and enthusiastic manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Supervise the Apple Valley Community Center and Hayes Park to maintain a clean and safe environment for all users. • Oversee other variable part-time building staff, including Facility Attendants, Warming House Attendants, Janitorial staff and Adult Athletics staff. Delegate tasks and assist as needed with program and facility needs. • Troubleshoot department concerns that arise with off-site Park & Recreation facilities and programs (ie: Redwood, Johnny Cake Ridge Park, Teen Center, Picnic shelters) and refer them to Department staff who can assist. • Assist clients in the registration for recreational programs and activities, and in the reservation of certain recreational facilities. • Be courteous and sincere in all relations and matters dealing with the general public using the building. • Oversee the set-up, take-down and monitoring of all building equipment along with overseeing light maintenance, room set-up and take down and general cleaning. • Coordinate and implement any recreational program or activity and assist in any city-wide events as assigned. • Open and close the building as scheduled. • Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS • Demonstrate past experience and ability to work with public and supervise facilities, activities and programs effectively. • Demonstrates enthusiasm and ability to perform all necessary tasks. • Good public relations and communication skills. • Must be at least 18 years of age. Preferred Qualifications: • Lead experience. • POS (Point-of-Sale) experience. • CPR and first aid training and/or certification is a plus. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Schedule: Typical weeknights are 4:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., typical Saturday's are 7:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. Sunday's 11:45 a.m. - 7:15 p.m. Start and end times may vary. Starting rate of pay dependent on qualifications. Employment offer is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. Work is performed in an Community Center environment that includes exposure to computer screens, Job functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an Community Center and office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time, to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
