P4 Cybersecurity Engineer (US Federal)

As a Security Engineer within the Public Cloud Security Team, you will develop security standards and implement technical controls to protect Workday's Public Cloud resources. This role supports contracts with the U.S. Federal Government, requiring all personnel to be U.S. citizens. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls to protect against unauthorized use and loss while ensuring efficient service delivery. Responsibilities • Design and deploy security services, tools, and automated controls across Workday's Public Cloud environments. • Improve in-house security tooling and solutions. • Stay ahead of industry technology and business trends. • Drive product technology and engineering process innovation. Requirements • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in security tools development or technical security architecture and design. • Experience securing infrastructure hosted on cloud service providers like AWS, GCP, and Azure. • Working knowledge of cloud security concepts and hands-on experience documenting and implementing security controls. • Proficient in at least one scripting language (Bash, Python, Ruby, etc.) for automation. • Understanding of network, application, and platform security tools and concepts. Nice-to-haves • Operational experience supporting production systems. • Certificates or courses taken against cloud service providers like AWS, GCP, and Azure. • Understanding of application, system, and security threats, attack techniques, and mitigating controls. • Practical knowledge of Linux systems and runtime security. • Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Chef, Ansible, etc.).
