Position Summary We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive People Operations & Recruiting Coordinator to join our People & Culture team on a contract basis. This role is truly split between Recruiting and People Operations; some weeks will be heavier on hiring activity, while others will focus more on compliance and other operational tasks. This role is a great fit for someone who is very resourceful, independent and excited to plug into a People & Culture team to support a myriad of responsibilities. Primary Responsibilities Recruiting • Partner with the recruiter to conduct pre-screens, schedule interviews, maintain the hiring pipeline, and ensure every candidate has a positive experience. • Communicate clearly and promptly with candidates and internal teams about interview logistics and updates. • Help maintain recruiting documentation and update internal resources like interview guides and candidate FAQs. • Assist with light sourcing or outreach efforts when needed. People Operations • Support administrative processes related to state business registrations, including setting up entities in new states and ensuring ongoing compliance with local requirements. • Manage incoming state correspondence (e.g., tax notices, annual report reminders, fee due dates), escalating or responding as appropriate. • Provide compliance support with audits and reporting including EEO-1, CA Pay Data, non-discrimination testing, ACA, and annual 401K audits. • Assist with workplace insurance and workers’ compensation processes, including audits, and policy renewals. • Track and support completion of mandatory compliance trainings across the organization Ad Hoc Projects • Assist the P&C team in ad-hoc projects and initiatives, as appropriate Ideal Candidate • 3+ years of combined experience in People Operations and Recruiting. • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable navigating state-specific requirements. • Flexible: able to shift smoothly between recruiting-heavy weeks and operations-focused weeks. • Strong multitasker who can juggle priorities, track deadlines, and maintain accurate records. • Clear, professional communicator with both candidates and internal stakeholders. • Proactive and resourceful: spots gaps, asks questions, and takes initiative to keep processes running smoothly. About The Role This is a remote 1099 contract position offered at a set rate of $30 per hour. The workload will generally be 5–10 hours per week, depending on team needs. At this time, the role is designed to remain part-time only and is not expected to transition into a full-time opportunity. Engagements can be structured in 3-month increments based on mutual agreement and organizational priorities.
