About Google and the Worldwide Operations Team Google's Technical Infrastructure team is the backbone of the company's online presence, responsible for building and maintaining the servers, data centers, and networks that make Google's products and services possible. The Worldwide Operations team is a critical component of this infrastructure, focusing on the logistics and supply chain management that underpins Google's global operations. As a Logistics Operations Manager, you will be an integral part of this team, applying your expertise in supply chain principles and problem-solving skills to drive key operational processes and ensure the smooth delivery of Google's hardware and services. Key Responsibilities Own the day-to-day logistics operations management of multiple data center locations, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of Google's hardware and services. Create, lead, and support cross-functional projects and initiatives that drive improvements in logistics operations, vendor management, and supply chain optimization. Manage and monitor vendor performance scorecards, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and business case development to inform process changes and improvements. Identify opportunities for cost savings and service improvements, developing business cases and presenting them to stakeholders and management for approval. Provide ongoing project management for approved initiatives, ensuring successful implementation and delivery. Manage relationships with multiple internal clients at data centers, providing operational support and ensuring seamless logistics operations. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need: A four-year college education in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent functional experience. A minimum of three years of experience managing warehousing, manufacturing, or supply chain operations. Proven experience in project planning, business case development, influencing teams, presentations, and financial modeling. Experience managing teams in remote and rural areas, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by these environments. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications will be highly regarded: An MBA or graduate degree in a related field, demonstrating advanced knowledge and skills in business and operations. Certification in project management, such as PMP or Agile, highlighting your expertise in managing complex projects. Experience in operations management, problem-solving, third-party logistics (3PL) vendor relationships, budget creation, and cost management. The ability to apply structured thinking and logic to complex problems, providing effective solutions. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive informed decision-making.
