SAP GTS Functional Consultant ( IMPORT & EXPORT)

Key Responsibilities & Required Expertise (FTA, FTZ, Import/Export Focus) The successful candidate must possess demonstrable, project-based experience in all the following areas, driving efficiency and compliance across the global supply chain: I. Customs Classification, Valuation, FTA & Preference Optimization • Customs Classification Mastery (HTS/Schedule B): Lead the strategy, configuration, and implementation of SAP GTS Classification to ensure accurate assignment of HTS, Schedule B, and other national tariff codes. This includes managing complex classification rules for finished goods and raw materials. • Customs Valuation Strategy: Design and configure SAP GTS to manage and accurately calculate the customs value for imported goods, incorporating adjustments for freight, insurance, assists, royalties, and other elements as required by customs regulations (e.g., first sale for export). • Preference Management Leadership: Serve as the SME for configuring, implementing, and optimizing SAP GTS Preference Management (GTS-PRE) to maximize duty-free trade opportunities. • Origin Determination: Design and configure complex rules of origin (e.g., Change in Tariff Classification, Value Content Method) to ensure compliance with major global FTAs (e.g., USMCA, MERCOSUR, EU-Korea). • Certificate of Origin (CoO) Management: Lead the implementation of automated processes for soliciting, managing, and issuing long-term supplier declarations (LTSDs) and issuing CoOs (e.g., GSP, standard certificates). • Compliance Auditing: Establish and implement internal controls and reporting to support FTA qualification claims and mitigate compliance risk under customs audit scenarios. II. Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) & Special Customs Procedures (Remains the same) • FTZ Implementation (US): Non-negotiable, proven experience in designing, configuring, and deploying the SAP GTS Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) solution within a US Customs environment, including inventory management, admissions, and weekly/periodic entries. • Special Procedures (EU/Global): Expert-level configuration and implementation of duty-saving regimes, such as: • Inward Processing Relief (IPR/Customs Warehousing) in European member states. • Bonded Warehouse procedures in other key jurisdictions. • Customs Filings (Import/Export): Expert knowledge and experience in configuring and troubleshooting standard customs filings processes globally, including: • US AES (Automated Export System) and ACE (Automated Commercial Environment). • European Member State declarations (e.g., NCTS, ECS). III. Core Import/Export Compliance and Strategic Leadership (Remains the same) • Import/Export Control: Expert-level configuration of Compliance Management for both Import and Export processes, including SPL (Sanctioned Party List) screening, Embargo checks, and managing import/export Licenses. • Strategic GTS Architecture: Act as the Lead Solution Architect for complex GTS implementations, ensuring the design supports long-term global trade strategy and maximizes the ROI from the GTS investment. • Technical Migration: Non-negotiable experience leading or architecting GTS Migration from On-Premise (OP) to e4H on RISE with SAP (or similar complex cloud migration projects). • Integration & Technical Foundation: Solid knowledge of data flow and integration architecture between SAP ECC/S/4HANA (SD/MM) and GTS, including BAdIs, user exits, and debugging for root cause analysis. • Life Sciences Expertise: Prior experience in the Life Sciences sector, understanding the specific regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device trade.
