Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced School Year Tutor to work with students in grades K-8 in mathematics and literacy. As a tutor, you will work with small groups of students, typically in groups of 1-5, to build skills in math and literacy. You will be responsible for engaging with students, using data to drive instruction, and communicating regularly with site coordinators to provide optimum learning experiences. Key Responsibilities: Engage with students in grades K-8 to build on existing mathematics and/or literacy skills, within two tutoring blocks Complete daily records on student progress and site needs using the tools provided Use data to drive instruction and make informed decisions about student learning Communicate regularly with site coordinators to provide optimum learning experiences for students Participate in coaching from an instructional coach to ensure high-quality instruction Use an asset-based approach in working with students, focusing on their strengths and abilities Be responsive and work collaboratively with other tutors and site staff to ensure a positive and productive learning environment Complete all training and requirements, including background clearance and NJ Fingerprint Certificate Essential Qualifications: Experience working with young children, preferably in a learning and teaching capacity New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form) Experience with Google suite functions, including Google Sheets and Forms Professional skills, including attention to detail, timely and proactive communication, and job preparedness Reliable transportation to travel to sites Preferred Qualifications: Teaching certification in mathematics or literacy Experience working with students in grades K-8 Strong knowledge of mathematics and literacy pedagogy Skills and Competencies: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to use data to drive instruction and make informed decisions Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: As a School Year Tutor with the New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc., you will have access to a range of career growth opportunities and learning benefits, including: Professional development and training in mathematics and literacy pedagogy Opportunities for advancement and leadership roles Collaborative and supportive work environment Recognition and rewards for outstanding performance Work Environment and Company Culture: The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. is committed to creating a positive and productive work environment that supports the well-being and success of our tutors.
