Team as a Shop Mechanic 2nd Shift in Hunlock Creek We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Shop Mechanic to join our team at the Pikes Creek Division of H&K Group, Inc. in Hunlock Creek, PA. As a core member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline vocational trucks. We offer a range of benefits and opportunities, including: Competitive salary commensurate with experience ($18 - $30 per hour) 100% Company-paid Health Benefits 401(k) Savings and Investment Plan Additional training programs, including on-the-job, online through H&K Academy, manufacturer-offered training, and more Responsibilities As a Shop Mechanic 2nd Shift, your essential duties and responsibilities will include: Performing all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies Reading job orders and observing and listening to trucks or equipment in operation to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures Installing new ignition systems, aligning front wheels, changing or recharging batteries, and replacing transmissions and other parts Replacing gas or diesel engines Examining protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and equipment, and adjusting as needed Lubricating and servicing vehicles Collision repair, sanding, prep, and painting Completing all standard maintenance on trucks and equipment and ensuring state inspection requirements are met for cars, trucks, and trailers Other duties as assigned Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Required Skills, Education, and Experience: One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in diesel mechanics or a related field OR 2 years of related experience and/or training Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one year Clean driving record Customer Service and Teamwork skills Mathematical Skills Willing and able to work a 2nd shift schedule Ability to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE as needed Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job) Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience: 4 years of related experience and/or training State Inspection license Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications Work Environment Our work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, with: Noise level that can be loud at times Occasional requirement to work outdoors in all environments Hours that regularly exceed 40 in a week and 8 in a day Physical demands that include standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, climbing, balancing, and crawling Frequent requirement to stoop, crouch, and kneel Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At H&K Group, Inc., we invest in our employees' growth and development.
