Staples Cash Application Representative (Remote) in _Any Location – Remote, United States

What you’ll be doing: This role is responsible for applying cash to customer accounts and performing detailed research on problems that arise during the cash application process You will reconcile misapplied accounts, contact customers for remittance and work with collectors to obtain remits Recognize and proactively communicate potential cash application issues Research and assist in solving payment discrepancies by working with Credit & Collections and other internal/external customers to resolve issues quickly and efficiently Promptly process cash, credit and debit memos and use other documentation support when necessary to resolve account differences with customers Escalate large cash application issues appropriately Develop root cause analysis to proactively correct issues Actively document customer issues including customer payment issues Notify management of account reconciliation concerns What you bring to the table: · Proficient in Microsoft office applications · Ability to recognize and research billing problems and to identify component parts, causes and cost impact · Ability to utilize computer system features to accurately research and document account issues · Ability to identify and address concerns before they become problems and to propose solutions to the concerns · Capable of being entrusted with confidential information · Ability to build productive working relationships · Strong ability to communicate both orally and in writing · Ability to cooperate with team members and supervisor · Ability to be flexible with position duties and scope of work · Skilled in systems tools or ability to pick up system knowledge quickly · Basic understanding of accounting processes Qualifications : What’s needed- Basic Qualifications · High school diploma or GED What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications · 1-2 years in Cash Application or Associates degree in Business or Finance related field We Offer : · Inclusive culture with associate-led Business Resource Groups · Flexible PTO (22 days) and Holiday Schedule (7 observed paid holidays) · Online and Retail Discounts, Company Match 401(k), Physical and Mental Health Wellness programs, and more perks and benefits ( Interested in joining the team?
